Sunday Sketches SS04 -
Swirly Bird stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Swirly Bird & Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Sets & Swirly Scribbles Thinlits by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

Last year the Swirly Bird Stamp Set was one of the top sellers when the catalog first came out.  The endless samples on pinterest where a good part of why everyone loves this set.  Because it is filled with lots of this and that shapes it can be a little overwhelming but don't let that stop you from taking advantage of this amazing set.

Sunday Sketches Series SS044 Swirly Bird Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! by www.stampstodiefor-horz

Each Sunday I create a card sketch and stamp a card using the card template.  This week was a fun sketch pretty clean and simple.  The daisy's from the Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper is one of my favorite this year. I love Daisies!

Patsy Waggoner's wedding stamps to die for
I loved daisies so much they were a main part of our wedding in 1975.  This is my one and only little sister.  She is the one who got me into stamping in the first place, so I guess I owe it all to her.  There is 10 years between us and she is a medical miracle and an answer to many years of praying as a little girl for a little shisher.  I am a strong believer in prayer and miracles.

Tom and I cutting the cake with diasies

Our cake was made by Tom's Mom and decorated with Daisies, pictures don't do it justice.  My Sweetheart Tom and best friend will celebrate our 42 wedding anniversary in August exactly a month from today.   You will notice I didn't have daisies for my bouquet.  I have some allergies and a handful of flowers for a wedding ceremony would have resulted in a great deal of sneezing, but I would have LOVED them.

Its Thursday's Just in CASE Series.

CASE = COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING

Just in CASE - Cool Treats stamp set by Stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor hand stamped birthday card
Left: Stampin' Up! Card page 93 ~ Right: My CASE

Each week Alison and I come up with a card to CASE and share it with you. This week I choose the card on page 93 of the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog.  All products used to make my card are from Stampin' Up!

While the layout is the same and the colors similar I choose the Cool Treats stamp set to create my CASE card.  My Polka Dots Basic Embossing Folder had not arrived yet when I made my card so I used the Seaside Embossing Folder.

These ice cream treats almost look good enough to eat.   As a child when I went to visit my friend who lived in town in the early 60's the ice cream truck would ring its bell as it came down the street.  We would run out with a dime in our hands to buy a treat,  I loved the creamsicles.  I always thought it was so magical.

I only lived a mile from downtown but it was considered the country so no ice cream trucks came by.   They maybe should have because we had lots of kids on our road.  So many wonderful memories of growing up playing moon light star light, Anti-I-over and baseball.

The Stampin' Up! Color Palette is...

  • Melon Mambo
  • Pool Party

  • Bermuda Bay
  • Powder Pink.

I try to in-cooperate all the colors into my card, you  don't have to use all the colors to play along.  Love the colors again this month!

Color Your World International Blog Hop Daisy Delight Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

All products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up!

Here is how I made this card...

  1. First the cardbase is a 4 1/4" x 11" Pool Party Cardstock
  2. The Lemon Lime Twist patterned paper is from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.
  3. I then stamped three Lemon Lime Twist stems on a piece of 3" x 4 1/4" Whisper White cardstock.
  4. I then stamped in Tuxedo Black INk Thank You about 3/4" from the bottom.
  5. Then I mounted the Whisper White cardstock to a piece of 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" Pool Party cardstock and adhered it to the center of the card front with dimensionals.
  6. I stamped the large daisy from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Melon Mambo.
  7. I then ink up the tree leaves from Sheltering Tree stamp set in Melon Mambo and then stamped it on a piece of scratch paper and then stamped it over the daisy.
  8. I cut the daisy in half and attached one on top of the other to create like a half daisy.
  9. I repeated the daisy stamping in Bermuda Bay and Powder Pink.
  10. I attached the Melon Mambo daisy to the left stamp and the Powder Pink to the right hand stem with glue dots.
  11. I attached the Bermuda Bay daisy with a dimensional to the center stem.
  12. I punched out three 1/2" circles in Basic Black cardstock and attached each to the center of each daisy with a glue dot.
