Stamping Inspiration Made Easy

CASE = Copy And Share Everything

I love stampers, they are generous and love to share what they have been creating.  In the beginning everything I created was copied.  Now it is a huge compliment when someone copies my work, of course I appreciate when they mention who inspired them.  It is important when we CASE to give credit where credit is due.

I created the Just in CASE series to demonstrate how the Stampin' Up! catalogs are full of inspirational samples and ides.  As Stampin' Up! demonstrators we also get inspiration from an exclusive website just for Stampin' Up! demonstrators and every quarter Stampin' Up! sends out a  too.  And, if you become a SU Demonstrator you get a quarterly magazine called Stampin' Success full of more papercrafting ideas.

When you CASE you can copy the card exactly or change up the stamp set or colors or maybe even both,  but if you go too far you are then creating your very own card and just are inspired by the card or project you started to CASE.

Stamping changes I made in my CASE'd card...

  • For my card I replaced the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a piece of Candle paper from the Party Animal DSP.
  • I replaced the stamped image from the Cake Crazy stamp set with one from the Big on Birthdays.  I embossed the greeting with White Embossing Powder just like the concept artist did.

  • I replaced the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim with the Emerald Envy Rushed Ribbon

Do you feel guilty when you copy a card?  Don't it is a high form of compliment.  I wouldn't share them here with you if I didn't want you to CASE them.

I have embossed more in the last month than I have in the past couple of years.  It makes such an impression and is really very simple to do.  I think I mostly hated the mess of the powder but have learned it is easy to just wipe up the random misplaced powder with a baby wipe, problem solved.

Be sure to you your embossing buddy to wipe over your cardstock before you emboss so you don't get random flecks of embossing on your project.

Easy Embossing Steps...

  1. Run your Embossing Buddy over the cardstock to be embossed.
  2. Stamp image with Versa Mark Ink
  3. Power your powder over the stamped image.
  4. Tap off powder
  5. Heat image

Color Your World Blog Hop

International Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

I just love being a part of the Color Your World International Blog Hop.

I had shared last week about my little tumble and injury to my left arm which has left me unable to stamp.  Thankfully I had a few cards stamped up to share with you for the next week or so.  But I didn't have the color challenge done for this week.

I still wanted to share this weeks color challenge in case you wanted to play along.  We set up a Facebook Group for everyone to be a part of.  If you aren't a member of the group already go check it out and ask to join.

Every 3rd Tuesday of the Month we post our color challenge on the facebook group. Everyone is welcome to play along with the challenge and upload their projects on the Group Page.  We do ask that you not post any links in the group, we're here to get our creative juices flowing and share photos

Sunday's Sketch SS027 - Thinking of You Card

Sunday Sketches SS027 card sketch www.stampstodiefor-horz
Sunday Sketches - where does the time go, I can't believe we are already up to week 27 of the Sunday Sketches.   Card Sketches are a great way to begin creating your card.  I like a simple black and white sketch to get me started.  Then just pick your colors and stamp set and you are ready to go.

Sunday Sketches SS027 card sketch www.stampstodiefor.com

This is a very simple card sketch for creating a clean and simple card.   Just because they are simple to make doesn't mean they can't leave a lasting impression.

Measurements:

  • Card Base:  Soft Sky - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • Mat: Dapper Denim - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
  • Whisper White: 2 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Penned and Painted stamp set by stampin' Up! www.stampstodiefor.com

I absolutely love the Penned and Painted stamp set from the Annual Catalog.  It is a two step stamp which makes for amazing results.

  • Here I stamped the outline across the card front in Dapper Denim ink.
  • For the stamped image on the Whisper White I stamped the outline of the flower petals in Dapper Denim ink and the sold part in Soft Sky ink.
  • The leaves outline is Garden Green ink and the center is Mint Macaron ink.

The ribbon is the in-color Rushed Dapper Denim ribbon.  I love how many of our coordinating embellishments give our cards a professional looking touch.

The "Thinking of You" is from the Window Shopping stamp set. I honestly can't tell you what Stampin' Up! was thinking when they gave it this name - can't find the correlation.   But you know me I sometimes (by accident) end up calling stamp sets by another name than their given name.
