Harvest Meadow Suite Collection - free PDF with purchase!

I used the  Cork 12" x 12" Specialty Paper and cut out two of the sprigs using the Harvest Dies. I think they look like wheat from the prairies here in Canada. When you drive from Alberta to Ontario you see fields of wheat lining the highway and the horizon way off in the distance. I think it's so beautiful and so different from the mountains and ocean views in Vancouver.

I added a pop of Calypso Coral and embossed it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. It's fabulous and is perfect for any cards you want to make with a vintage look. I finished off my card with the Brushed Metallic Adhesive Dots.

Sunday Sketches with Jar of Flowers

Each Sunday Patsy Waggoner (my US Border Buddy) and I (Alison Solven in Canada) share a card we've made using one of our exclusive Border Buddy Sketches. You can use the sketch as it's presented or change up things to make it your own. There are no right or wrong ways to interpret the sketch.

Sunday Sketches Jar of Flowers-2

I used the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I love the images of the different flowers and they are small enough so you can add colour really quickly with Stampin' Blends, Watercolor Pencils or ink and Water pens. So many choices. I used Stampin' Blends to color my sunflowers. Here is the original sketch.

This sketch is really versatile and you can use it with so many different stamps, patterned paper and colors.

You build the final image with different stamps - the flowers and stems are two different images and the set also includes jars for your flowers!

The Cork 12" x 12" Specialty Paper is actual cork! It's fantastic and gives a real rustic feel to your card creations. I used just a little strip of it under the Harvest Meadow 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.

The Patterns on the Designer Series Paper are so lovely and the colours really feel like fall. I choose the Misty Moonlight cardstock, ink and patterned paper as my focal colour today. I think the image stamped and left as a monochromatic look is beautiful. I finished off the card with the Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and some Linen Thread. I like using something soft (like ribbon) with something hard (embellishments) on each card if I can.

Cutest Halloween Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!

Have a Fa(boo)lous Halloween with the Cutest Halloween stamp set by Stampin’ Up!  I love creating fun Halloween treats for the little spooks who come by for trick or treat.  This stamp set along with the coordinating Halloween Punch will make it super easy this year.

Each Thursday as part of our Just in CASE Series, my Border Buddy Alison Solven from Canada and I take turns creating a card that we CASED from a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. CASE stands for (Copy And Selectively Edit).   We like to show you how you can use the paper crafting projects in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog to inspire you!

When you CASE, you can copy it exactly, or selectively edit it by changing the colors or the stamp set or both.  Today I simply CASED the layout, changing up the colors and stamp set.

The concept artist at Stampin’ Up! used the Sweet Little Stockings Stamp Set and Stocking Dies.  The cheerful pattern papers are from the Sweet Stocking Designer Series Paper.  The stocking toes, heels and cuffs are cut from the Jolly Felt. 

The color palette is Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Basic White

For my hand stamped CASE card I used the Cutest Halloween Stamp Set, Halloween Punch, and the Cute Halloween 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper. The scalloped edge was cut using the stitched so sweetly dies. While they are rectangular you can use just the edge to give your cardstock a fun scallop.

The ghost pumpkin and skull are all stamped with the stamp set and punched out with the Halloween Punch.  I layered them on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it some more definition.

CARD CREATED USING SKETCH AND NATURE'S HARVEST STAMP SET

Each Sunday my Border Buddy Alison Solven and I, create a card using one of our card sketches and share it with you.  Today we used the Nature's Harvest  stamp set and Harvest Dies.

Calypso Coral is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors!

The printed papers are from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper.  The Calypso Coral with the new In Color Soft Succulent makes the perfect pairing.

Remember when you paid $20+ dollars for a tag punch that punched on tag?  Now you can get 8 different size tags in the Tailor Made Tags Die set #155563 for only $22.  Each tag has amazing stitched edges which gives the tag some extra texture and you all know I love texture on my cards.

HAND STAMPED CARD MEASUREMENTS

Card Base is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" that is often used in hand stamped cards.  It is half a sheet of the 8 1/2" x 11" and scored at 4 1/4".

When using our cardstock it is often best to score the paper before you fold it.  What is scoring? Scoring creates a line in the paper which guides the fold. It helps to prevent cracked and sloppy creases and gives you card a professionally finished look.  Do you score you cardstock when you stamp?

The Calypso Coral paper is 4" x 5 1/4"

The Soft Succulent strip is 2" x 5 1/4"

HARVEST MEADOW DESIGNER SERIES PAPER BY STAMPIN' UP!

The printed paper in the card is from the Harvest Meadow Designer Series paper.  Stampin' Up! pretty papers are top quality.  If you are creating and 3D paper crafting projects you will find these hold  up well to scoring and folding.

The Bumble Bee Gingham ribbon is soft and easy to tie.  It will add some brightness and cheer to your card.

You can create a card exactly using the sketch layout or change it up a bit. You can also turn the sketch so if it is a vertical sketch you might want to turn it to be horizontal. I replaced the oval with my tags.  The flowers I colored using the Stampin' Blends (Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron).  Let your imagination run wild!
